"Little Clothes for Little People" by Lia van Steenderen

The back cover says it all -

Don't be put off by the strange 70's style drawings - the clothing is as useful and fashionable now as it ever was. It seems that children's clothing does not change much over time - only the fabrics we choose to make them in. And, as the book says, there really is a pattern for everything your child could need. The patterns and instructions are clear and easy to follow and there are lots of ideas for variations on a theme. You will find this inspirational! It is a heavy hard back book, clean and in good condition. £5.50 and £2.30 p+p in the UK.
"The Fairytale Doll Book" by Valerie Janitch

The best thing about this great hardback book is that all the patterns inside are already full-sized. No more tedious scaling-up on squared paper! It is always wonderful when you can just get going on the project you like with no delay. And, believe me, there are a lot of very appealing dolls in this book - far more than are shown on the cover! They include Goldilocks and the three bears, all the characters from the mad-hatter's tea party, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and Wendy, Sleeping Beauty and Prince Florimund, Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, the Wicked Witch, Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker soldier. Also included are instructions for props and furniture for these characters. Plenty to keep you busy for ages! This book is in super condition and is £6.50 plus £2.30 p+p in UK.
"Creating your own soft furnishings" by Angela Fishburn (out of print)
This softback book is an introduction to all types of soft furnishings for the home. It includes curtains and blinds, loose covers, bedlinens, table linen, cushions and lampshades. All in all, it covers pretty much all you need to know to make everything for a home. The instructions are clear with lots of illustrations and there is guidance on choosing the right fabric for the purpose and on creating a colour scheme. I recommend this book as I have made curtains, table linen and cushions from it without difficulty and with good results. The book is in good used condition and is unmarked. £5.00 with £2.30 UK p + p.
"Making Stuffed Toys" by jane Gisby and Sue Quinn (out of print)

A lovely variety of dolls and animals here. Some are simple enough for a child to make such as the mouse or chick, others are more demanding such as the dressed dolls. Everything is illustrated in full colour throughout including all the step by step instructions. Anyone with just a little sewing experience could takle these projects. This is a great introduction to soft toys and these represent the timeless classics that small children have always loved including teddy, cow, penguin and bunny. If you intend to make toys for your own children or someone else's, then you can't do better than this delightful selection. This hardback book is in very good condition and still has its dustjacket. £5.00 and £2.30 UK p + p.
