"Making Games in Wood" by Katharina Zechlin

This useful little softback book is aimed at those with little or no experience in woodwork.  It contains instructions for a total of 24 games, mostly for one or two players.  These include "Go", "Magic Cube", "Labyrinth", "Reversi", "Warfare", "Cops and Robber", "Revolution".  If you want to make a start on woodworking projects, this would be an excellent choice.  The book itself has a sticky label on the back cover and a small label taped to the spine.  Otherwise, it is in good condition with only light shelf wear.  £2.50 + £1.50 p+p in UK.

"The Complete Book of Tatting" by Rebecca Jones SOLD

A lovely hardback ex-library book in good condition.  Good clear instructions for this unusual craft with plenty of diagrams and photos.  Suitable for beginners - I made a small project (a bookmark) from the book although I had not tatted before.  SOLD

You could still buy it from Amazon

"A Manual of Hand-made Bobbin Lace Work" by Margaret Maidment (out of print)

This is a 1976 hard back edition of the original which was first printed in 1931.  It has a lot of clear diagrams and black and white photos.  I don't make lace but it does appear that the instructions would be suitable for beginners and adults alike.  I have been told that this is one of the books for any bobbin lace maker to own so that must be a sign that it has lasting appeal and usefulness.  This copy is in good condition, particularly considering it is 32 years old.  I can let it go at £5.00 plus £2.30 post and packing in the UK.

"The Ultimate Book of Doing up Old Junk"  by Index Publishing

This is not a book about restoring antiques but concentrates on giving a new lease of life to the sort of scruffy old furniture that would otherwise be consigned to the tip.  It is packed full of colour photos of before, after, and during various projects.  If you have any interest in the 'repair, renew and recycle' ethos, this book will inspire you.  My large hardback book is is in excellent condition and still has its dustjacket.  £3.00 + £3.00 post and packing.

"20 Pieces or Less" by Carolyn Kyle and Laura Tayne    SOLD

This softback book has 30 patterns for glass panels each made with 20 pieces or less as the title suggests.  There is a colour photo of each panel and the patterns are very clear and can be photocopied to enlarge or reduce as required.  Suitable for leaded glass or copper foiling, there are some interesting decorative techniques which enhance these fairly simple designs.  Clear explanations on the choice of glass will help even a novice glassworker make the best of their skills.  This book does assume that the reader knows the basics of leaded glass or copper foiling techniques but even so, these designs are all suitable for someone looking for first projects to do at an evening class.  This gently used book is in good condition with only the remains of a price sticker on the back cover.  £4.99 + £1.50 post and packing.
