"The Merehurst Book of Needlework" Edited by Diana Brinton

This large hardback ex-library book has loads of information and techniques on machine embroidery, smocking, silk painting with embroidery and openwork embroidery.  Mainly of interest to machine embroiderers, this books takes you through the steps required to create lovely embroidery using only a standard sewing machine that can do zig-zag stitches.  I don't even do machine embroidery and I found it fascinating and easy to understand.  I think even a beginner would be able to create wonderful pieces very quickly by following the advice in the book.  This copy, being an ex-library book, is in fair condition with cover a bit loose.  Otherwise, it is totally usable and clean.  £5.00 plus £2.30 p+p in the UK.
